Tomorrow my brother Christoph and me are kicking off the first part of our journey to Kiev, this year’s World Champs venue. We will be put up in Berlin for one night by our aunt and uncle before we will leave Germany on Monday evening.
Due to my injury I fully focused on short interval and speed trainings during the last week in Lübeck and did some longer sessions by bike through the beautiful sourroundings of my hometown. The weather was awesome almost the whole week which prompted me to enjoy the fresh water of the Baltic Sea between the training sessions. But the chilling times are now over and the WOC competitions will start in less than one week. From Monday to Friday we’ll have some technical trainings to become familiar with the “highspeed” Orienteering in the Ukraine. Although we had similiar trainings at home, there might be something new for us, for example how to deal with the “rubbish- or “dog-problem”!? Probably it will be the most adventurous competition ever for me… but we will see and I’m really looking forward to an exciting week full of new experiences…
